Couples, family & groups

A couple or family is its own chart with its own notes, treatment plan, and bill, while each member keeps a personal chart. Therapy groups get one session, attendance, and per-member notes and billing.

More than one person in the room

  • Couples and families as one clinical and billing unit
  • A private chart for each member, nothing copied
  • Therapy groups by roster, billed per member
  • Minors with guardian portal access
  • One video room for everyone

Built for more than one person in the room

One shared chart, private ones for each member

The couple or family has its own notes, treatment plan, and billing; each member keeps a personal chart. Nothing is copied between them, and a member’s export never includes the shared chart, so releasing one partner’s record never discloses the other’s.

Scheduling, reminders, and one video room

Schedule the couple, family, or group as one appointment. Every member gets their own reminder and joins the same video room from their own device.

Notes on the couple’s chart

Type, dictate, or record a session with the couples or family template and the note captures the interaction rather than one person’s narrative. It files on the shared chart.

Billing with a guarantor

A primary client is designated for insurance and a guarantor for payment. AutoPay charges the guarantor’s card, and superbills and claims use the primary client’s coverage.

Therapy groups by roster

A group is a roster of independent clients: one session, attendance taken per member, and each attendee billed and documented on their own chart. Members never see each other’s names on the appointment.

Minors and guardians

Guardians get their own portal logins with permissions you set, intake packets route through them, their card is the one on file, and reminders go to them when the child has no email.

Common questions

Can partners see each other’s records?

No. Each partner has a private chart, the shared chart belongs to the couple, and an individual export never includes the couple’s notes.

How is insurance billed for a couple?

Under the primary client’s coverage, with the couple’s session on the claim. Therapy group members are each billed under their own coverage.

Can group members see each other’s names?

Not on the appointment, where the roster is hidden, and in video sessions members appear to each other by first name only.

Can I bring couples over from my previous EHR?

Yes. The EHR import brings couples over whole, with their shared records and each partner’s own chart.
