Who built this
I built Practice Harbor because therapists deserve better.
I'm Albert Wong, a clinical psychologist in San Rafael. I've been in practice for over a decade and I see clients every weekday. Before Practice Harbor, I directed the somatic psychology program at JFK University and taught at CIIS.
Too much of the behavioral health industry treats therapists like second-class citizens. As a billing opportunity. A line item on a balance sheet. It doesn't feel good. I wanted to try and build something different. Fairness. Inclusion. Reciprocity. Care. Honoring the dignity of the folks who are carrying the work.
That's what I wanted to stand for. So I built Practice Harbor.

Will the AI write notes that sound like me?
The AI learns from your style and the details you provide. You're always in control — it drafts, you review and sign. Think of it as a really fast scribe, not a replacement for your clinical judgment.
Is this actually HIPAA compliant?
Yes — for real. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, a Business Associate Agreement is included with every account, and our AI vendors work under BAAs with zero data retention. Your clients' information never leaves a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment.
What do I get with the free trial?
Everything. Full access to AI notes, scheduling, telehealth, billing, insurance claims, secure messaging — the works. No credit card required. If it's not for you, just stop using it. Your data is always exportable.
How long does setup take?
About 2 minutes. Create your account, set your password, and you can write your first note right away. No IT department needed.
Can I bring over my existing clients?
Yes. Upload the export from your current system under Settings → EHR Import (SimplePractice, Sessions Health, Headway, TherapyNotes, and others) and a person on our team brings your clients, notes, and documents over, usually within one to three business days. You can also add clients one by one.
What happens when my trial ends?
You pick a plan that works for your practice. Nothing gets deleted — your notes and client data stay exactly where they are. And if you decide it's not the right fit, you can export everything.
Do you sign a BAA?
It's already done. Our Business Associate Agreement is included automatically when you create your account — no extra steps, no waiting for paperwork.
Is Practice Harbor the same as Harbor (harboroffice.ai)?
No. Practice Harbor is made by Somatopia, LLC, a San Rafael, California company founded by clinical psychologist Albert Wong, PhD. We are not affiliated with Harbor (harboroffice.ai / harborpractice.com), Harbor Health, or any other company named Harbor, and their features and pricing are not ours. Our plans are listed on this page.
